37 of 75

My Day 37 drawing was inspired by an African American friend from my neighborhood. I was experimenting with pens and didn't go for perfection. The black ink is a little "loose" and I wanted to keep it that way, sort of like etegami art where you hold the Japanese paintbrush at the top rather than using it like a writing tool.

I'd like to try my hand at etegami art in the near future. Here are some cool examples of this style of painting...simple and loose and ready to mail.

This type of art is usually sent on postcards to family and friends near and far. We could use more inspirational mail art in this world (and less junk and bills), don'tcha think?

That is a great type of art. Love the words with these postcards as well. Your neighborhood friend is a beauty. Great job. I like all your pieces that you've done so far. 75 is a lot of painting. Remember when I did the 40 faces? That was fun but a lot of work. You are doing an awesome job Ily. Well you are a wonderful artist after all.:) Take care, have a great day. I'm trying to limit my time online so I'll be back and forth.

First you have captured great beauty in the "loose" painting of your friend! Quite lovely. I like the style - it does something important - it makes me laugh!

Thanks, Gloria, and I DO remember your 40 faces (I have a few of them in my home). I love how I'm starting to relax when I grab a pen...good or bad I'll get something out of it...so it's all good.

Brite Mist, welcome and thanks. Yes, it's playful and fun art. I like it, too.

You should definitely paint some of those. And you did a very nice job with her.
